Senior Project and ESLRs

1.  What ESLR have you excelled in most in your senior project?
In my senior project the ESLR I have excelled in most is being an effective communicator and effective learner.

2.  Please explain why you think you have excelled in this ESLR.
The reason why I have excelled in this ESLR because my mentor now allows me to deal and direct some of her clients when she is in her office busy with other matters. Also effective leaner because of the multiple textbooks I have found concerning my topic and applying the knowledge form those textbooks to support my first and third answer.

3.  Provide evidence from your senior project to support your claim (evidence is a photo of something you are doing, photo of something you made, etc).
Here's a photo of a few of the textbooks I'm using.

Senior Project Update

Content:

(1) What are you currently doing in your independent component?
For my independent component, I am currently looking for a pre-license course in real estate to take.

(2) What is a recent piece of research (article, interview, or audio-visual) that have you reviewed you would say was significant in helping you understand where to go next in your senior project?  The piece of research should be something you reviewed in November.  Please explain what you learned and where are you going next because of this piece of research.
The most significant piece of research that I found would be a free online textbook titled, High School Course Financial Literacy 101, created by the State of California Department of Real  Estate. This book has helped me understand the current financial situation as well as the process of the transaction when buying a house in California.

(3) Provide evidence from your independent component or the piece of research as something you recently did.  For example, a photo of something you working on for your independent component or your notes from the video you watched.
Here's the link to the textbook that has helped me And I've also organized my research binder with note on different subject and topics on real estate.

Working EQ and Possible Answers

1. What is most important for a real estate agent to generate clientele?

2. "I am not going to revise my EQ at this time". Because it helped me narrow my focus in my topic and I feel it is specific but it is still open ended.

3. Possible answers to my EQ:
Being 'Client-Centric' and disregarding the qualifications and expertise of the vendor.
Focusing on publicity and recommendations of previous clients.
Being 'Vendor-Centric' which switches the focus from the client to the person providing the service (agent)

Topic Choice

A.
The topic I choose as my senior topic is real estate. My family always dreamed of buying a house and that dream became a reality by early 2010. After about two years of looking for a suitable home, home after home, some near and some far, my family and I finally found a home that would suit our needs, thanks to our realtor. He seemed to have my family's best interest at heart and listened attentively to and tried to find a house that would best suit our needs. I was oblivious to the entire process of purchasing a home and whenever I would go with my parents to the meeting they had with the realtor. At those meetings I heard terms that I was completely unfamiliar with; escrow, equity, different types of laws and many, many acronyms. As a result, I chose real estate because I would like to familiarize myself with the process of buying a house, with hopes of someday in the future owning a home of my very own.

B.
  • iPoly Citizen: I plan to acknowledge and understand the needs of other people but still maintain my goals and ideals but adapting and compromising to the needs of others accordingly. This would be very useful in dealing with potential clients and fellow iPoly citizens.
  • Effective Communicator: I plan on being able to communicate in a persuasive manner but not so aggressive that I would drive away potential clients. The main form of communication in real estate is from the realtor directly to the world be client.
  • Effective Learner: I plan to study under my mentor and independently, and maybe take a  pre-licensed course in order to grasp regulations and standards of dealing with real estate in the state of California.
  • Effective User of Technology: I plan to use mainly computer to look up floor plans and schematics of a home and also in advertising a home.
