- Filed papers and made copies in Rosario's office.
- Shadowed Rosario around the office.
- Helped pass out business cards and other forms of advertisement.
- Sorted papers out for Rosario.
- Asked Rosario questions about what she does.
Questions:
• How did she first
get into real estate?
• Have there been any
changes on how you handle your business due to changing time?
• What have you
enjoyed most about real estate?
• What's the most
effective way to obtain new clients?
• Is advertising your
only method of getting your business known?
• Does the economy in
any way affect your business?
Interpretive:
What is the most important thing you gained
from this experience? Why?
I
learned what to expect at a real estate office and the process of buying a
house. I have never been in a real estate office, other than Rosario's and with
her buying a house, the clients had a pleasant experience. What I learned to
expect is important because I want to buy a house someday and knowing what's
ahead is always great.
Applied:
How did what you did help you choose a
topic? Please explain.
After doing my
mentorship hours I learned that I never want to go into real estate as a career,
it is just not for me. I had other options for my senior topic but as the date
got closer to when I agreed to intern, at the last minute they did not seem to
remember who I was or what I was going to do. My first choice was technical theater
but that did not work out. Then my second choice was carpentry but the owner of
the store was out of state. Finally real estate, members of my extended are
successful realtors and it looked very interesting at the time. That is why I made choice to do real estate as my topic.
